Donovan R. Engel, 84, Kokomo, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at his residence.
Born July 30, 1927, in Miami County, he was the son of Harry Allen Engel and Minnie Ethel Benner. He was married Feb. 14, 1969, in Logansport to Evelyn Sue Browning.
Donovan retired in 1992 from Wilson Foods after 21 years of service.
He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Donovan was a Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a family man and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Sue Engel, Kokomo; children, Donna Lee Marohl and husband, Richard, Monticello, Debra Ellen Eldridge, Peru, Rodney Richard Engel and wife, Heidi, Kokomo, and Cynthia Powell, Carmel; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Ray and Herman Engel; and two sisters, Arvilla Foust and Bernadine DeLucca.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastors Tom DeFries, Keith Treadway and Zach Washler officiating.
Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
