Dorothea M. Ellison, 82, of Logansport, passed away Thursday March 7, 2019 at Millers Merry Manor.
She was born January 2, 1937 in Logansport to the late George and Nannie (Handy) Henry. On October 23, 1955 in Logansport she married James D. Ellison who survives.
Dorothea was a homemaker, and for 30 years took loving care of many children in her home as a babysitter and care giver. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a 1955 graduate of Logansport High School.
Other survivors include two sons, Scott A. Ellison and Jerry F. (Lori) Ellison, both of Logansport; two daughters, Shelly M. (Marshall) Baugus, Oxly, MO; Anna Ellison, Fort Wayne; sister, Berniece “Dolly” (David) Swigart, Logansport; two brothers, John Henry and Raymond Henry, both of Logansport; three granddaughters, Michell Chanley, Logansport; Aubri (Jeremy) Imus, Monticello; Destiny Baugus, Oxly, MO; two grandsons, Micah Kistler, IL; James Ellison, Logansport, four great grandchildren, Noah Chanley, Isaiah Chanley, Matthew Imus and Clara Imus.
Dorothea was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Patricia Anderson, two brothers, Albert Henry and George Henry Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday March 13, 2019 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Allen officiating. Burial will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
