Dorothy Dickson

Dorothy Jane Dickson, 73, of Logansport passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday October 3, 2014 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on July 29, 1941 in Jones, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Reusaw and Rose Violet (Jones) Harris.  On March 8, 1959 in Bastrop, Louisiana she married Verna Lamar Dickson who survives.

Dorothy retired in 2013 as a Registered Nurse at the Logansport State Hospital. She was a member of Life Gate Church.

Surviving along with her husband, is a son, Kenneth Lamar (Evelyn) Dickson; daughter, Sheryl Renee (Andy) Weil, both of Logansport; two brothers, Harold (Sherry) Harris, Haughton, LA; James Harris, Stonewall, LA; three sisters, Floyce Caldwell; Cleo Dickson; Glenda Sue (Gene) Quinley, all of Haughton, LA; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Life Gate Church in Logansport. Pastor Steve Ferris will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service on Monday, also at the Life Gate Church.

Memorials may be made to the Life Gate Church Shoe Fund.
