Dorothy Pogensick

Services for Dorothy P. Pogensick, 89, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born March 19, 1919, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Fritz and Bessie Kipfer Kummer. She was married June 6, 1954, in Logansport to Charles B. Pogensick, who preceded in death Jan. 23, 2003.

Dorothy worked in the cost accounting department of Essex before retiring in 1961 after 27 years of service.

She was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, the former Third Street United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 3790 Women’s Auxiliary.

Surviving are son, Stephen C. Pogensick, Logansport; brother, Robert F. Kummer and wife, Lavena, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

The Rev. George Plasterer will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
