Dr. John Jones

Dr. John Carl “Jack” Jones, 85, Logansport, died at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Zionsville Meadows, Zionsville.

Born July 13, 1924, in Cass County, he was the son of Carl B. and Icle L. Hummel Jones. His first marriage was on Dec. 24, 1946, in Young America, to Bonita Beck, who preceded in death May 15, 1956. His second marriage was on Aug. 25, 1962, in Logansport, to Patricia Pasquale, who also preceded in death in August 1983.

Dr. Jones was a retired longtime obstetrician/pediatrician in Logansport.

He was a member of the Indiana State Medical Association, Elks Lodge 66 and First United Methodist Church of Logansport. Dr. Jones was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a 1947 graduate of Indiana University.

Surviving are sons, Mark Jones and wife, Donna, Fort Wayne, Doug Jones and wife, Cindy, Shannock, R.I., and Bruce Jones and wife, LaVonna, Indianapolis; daughter, Laura Jones Archer and husband, Bart, Zionsville; sisters, Doris Jean Bryan, Logansport, and Mary Lynne Harmon and husband, Bud, St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Alison Bash and husband, Joe, Missoula, Mont., Adrienne Rupright and husband, Chris, and Elaine Moses and husband, Scott, all of Fort Wayne, Hannah Jones, Chicago, Sarah Jones, Fort Wayne, Daniel Jones, Indianapolis, Geoffrey Davis, Terre Haute, David Jones, Bloomington, Rachel Taylor and husband, Jesse, Indianapolis, Elizabeth Jones, New York, N.Y., Neil Jones, New London, Conn., and Elise Archer and Mason Archer, both of Zionsville; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn E. Jones.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church in Logansport with Pastor Bill Shannon officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday at the church.
