E. Dean Arven, 93, Logansport, died at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo.
Born Feb. 27, 1917, in Fulton County, he was the son of Orval and Lenora Fry Arven. His first marriage was on Sept. 4, 1941, in Rochester, to Dixie L. Harvey, who preceded in death on March 15, 2000. His second marriage was on June 30, 2001, in West Etna, to Nornetta McKenzie Rouch, who survives.
He retired from Exide in 1982 and was also the Veterans Service Officer for 12 years.
He was a former member of Rochester First United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, and a 1935 graduate of Fulton High School.
Surviving are his wife, Nornetta Arven, Logansport; stepson, Robert A. Rouch, Logansport; stepdaughter, Rhonetta L. Alcorn and husband, Randy, Logansport; eight stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Arven.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Russell officiating.
Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery, Rochester.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
