Earl "Butch" Hitchens

Earl E. “Butch” Hitchens, age 71 of Wardell, MO and formerly of Logansport, passed away February 13, 2023 in Missouri.

Born April 26, 1951, in Logansport to the late Earl E. and Mary Agnes (Burke) Hitchens. On October 13, 1993, in Logansport he married Billie J. Wallace who preceded in death on March 24, 2021.

Butch retired as a Lineman for the Logansport Municipal Utilities Company. He was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge and the Logansport Shrine Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Theressia (Ken) Roland, Logansport; Billie Sue Duford, Steele, MO; Donna DeVall, Killeen, TX; two sons, James (Chadell) Wallace, Jonesboro; Jeff (Lori) Musall, Steele, MO; brother, George Harbert, South Bend; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Butch was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Dodt, one daughter, Deb Cain, two sons, Harold Dean Wilson and Kenneth D. Saunders and a grandson, Eric Paul Stepp.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday February 22, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Aaron Gross officiating. A private burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 3 – 5 pm Wednesday, prior to services at the funeral home.
