Elvira G. Luna, 61, Logansport, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at IU Health Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born July 12, 1951, in Matamoros, Mexico, she was the daughter of Arturo C. Garza and Ofelia Martinez. She was married April 13, 1977, in Brownsville, Texas, to Israel Luna, who survives.
Elvira was employed at Tyson Foods.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to car shop.
Surviving are her husband, Israel Luna, Logansport; daughters, Esmeralda Leon and husband, Renato, and Elvira Luna, all of Logansport; sons, Jorge Luna and Cynthia Gutierrez, Esiquiel Luna and wife, Heather, and Daniel Luna and Emily Jones, all of Logansport; brothers and sisters, Jesus Garza and wife, Agustina, and Mario Garza and wife, Norma, all of Brownsville, Texas, Arturo Garza and wife, Mirthala, Baytown, Texas, Ofelia Cardenas and husband, Jose, Houston, Texas, Lupita Gonzalez and husband, Joe, Katy, Texas, and Fernando Garza, Houston, Texas; and grandchildren, Lizzet Lares, Cesar Lares, Omar Lares, Leah Leon, Abel Leon, Isaiah Valencia, Isel Valencia, Juan Valencia Jr., Chloe Luna, Aleecia Luna, Noah Garza, Osiel Garza, Jorge Garza, Ethen Luna, Xzavier Luna and Amilee Aguilera, all of Logansport.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Federico Garza.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in All Saints Catholic Church with Fathers Mike McKinney and Dominic Petan officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, where a Scripture service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
