Services for Emerson Eugene Whybrew, 81, Logansport, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Chase Center.
Born June 1, 1926, in Fulton County, he was the son of Marion and Estey Mae Snyder Whybrew. He was married Nov. 14, 1981, in Logansport, to Caroline Bertha Moon, who survives.
A graduate of Fulton High School, Emerson was a lineman for the Logansport Municipal Utility Company.
He was a veteran who served in the Korean Conflict.
He was a 50-year member of IBEW, life member of the VFW Post 3790, where he also was a past commander and a president of the Veterans Council, and a member of the American Legion Post 60, Voyager 721 and Eagles 323.
Mr. Whybrew was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at Bruce Lake and also spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Also surviving are children, William Whybrew and wife, Carol, Peru, Deborah Williams and husband, Bob, DeRuyter, N.Y., David L. See, Denver, Russell W. See and wife, Phyllis, Andover, Ill., Roberta J. Smith, Wabash, Ron See and wife, Marla, Peru, and Jackie S. Fultz, Logansport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Whybrew.
Pastor Edward Johnson will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
