Enid M. Hunt, 80, Logansport, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in Miller’s Merry Manor Arbor in Logansport.

Born May 19, 1929, in Metea, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Enid Nancy Sullivan Fissel.

Enid was raised by Harry and Ursula Johnson of Logansport. Her first marriage was on June 21, 1947, in Logansport, to E.P. Bill Jones, who was killed in a Pennsylvania Railroad accident in Bradford, Ohio, on March 1, 1964. Her second marriage was April 1, 1967, in Logansport, to Robert W. Hunt, who survives.

Enid retired in 1989 from the Cass County Assessor’s Office and had also worked at H. Wiler Furniture Store.

Enid graduated from Logansport High School in 1947 and enjoyed class activities. She was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Cass County Historical Society and Logansport Art Association, where she served on the board for many years. Enid was an avid golfer, winning the ladies championship at Dykeman Park five times. She enjoyed playing bridge with special friends for over 40 years. She also loved traveling the United States and Canada. Enid enjoyed needlepoint and grew many beautiful flowers.

Also surviving are her brother, Harlin Fissel and wife, Lois, Logansport; half-brother, Donald Fissel, Pennsylvania; half-sister, June Scharf, Chicago; stepsister, Nancy Griffith, California; sisters-in-law, Betty Fissel, Logansport, Wanda Shepherd and husband, Michael, Carmel, and Margaret Long and husband, Willie, Kokomo; brother-in-law, Monroe Hunt and wife, Carol, Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Donna Wharton, Anderson, and Jean Anne and Carl Hedelious, Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Allen E. “Gene” Fissel.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. George Plasterer officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross-Wind UMC.
