Services for Eugene âGeneâ O. Kaufman Sr., 69, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in Chase Center.
Born Oct. 19, 1937, in LaGrange, he was the son of Ned and Christena Weisenberger Kaufman. He was married Oct. 20, 1979, in Royal Center, to Sue A. Viney, who survives.
A 1955 graduate of Piketon, Ohio, Gene was a union electrician and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.
He was a member of the Royal Center Masonic Lodge #585, Royal Center Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne, Murat Legion of Honor, Logansport Shrine Club, a life member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #60, Voiture #729 40 & 8, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3790, and a member of the Electricians Union Local #668.
Gene was an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending time with his classmates and friends.
Also surviving are three sons, Eugene âGeneâ O. Kaufman Jr. and his wife, Marcie, Augusta, Kan., Cary D. Kaufman and his wife, Angie, and Patrick Ned Kaufman, all of Logansport; one daughter, Tina Marie Titus and her husband, Rick, Logansport; one stepdaughter, Debbie Cottrell, Kokomo; one brother, Richard âDickâ Kaufman and his wife, Connie, North Port, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
Pastor Gene O. Kaufman Jr. will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military rites, will be in the Walton IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge at 6 p.m., followed by a shrine processional.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
