Everett Swartzell

Everett L. Swartzell, 91, of Logansport, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at IU Arnett, Lafayette, IN.

Born March 26, 1924 in Headley, IN, he was the son of the late Clyde Swartzell and Flora (Abbott) Swartzell-Hale. On June 19, 1949 in Logansport, IN, he married Virginia R. Wilson who preceded in death October 24, 2013.

Everett was a brakeman for Con-Rail. He enjoyed boating, camping and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Everett was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving is one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Baar, Logansport, IN; three grandchildren, Adam J. Baar, Logansport, IN; Kathryn E. Baar, Logansport, IN; Jennifer M. Baar, Logansport, IN; and one brother, Junior (Sandy) Swartzell, Royal Center, IN.

One son, Donald Swartzell, Four brothers, Marion, Gene, Howard and Jim Swartzell preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Stuart Rose Officiating. Burial with full Military Graveside Rites will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport .

Visitation will be held at Gundrum Funeral Home from 4:00PM - 7:00PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 and one hour prior to the service.
