Everett “Babe” M. Gordon, 93 of Logansport, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at North Woods Village in Kokomo.
Born on September 25, 1925 in Logansport, he is the son to the late Charles “Kelly” and Lillie (Eyman) Gordon. On November 17, 1967 in Logansport he married Jayne Bowyer who survives.
Babe retired from the United States Army on August 31, 1965 after serving his country for 23 years. After serving, he went on to be a truck driver for several companies, including Herd Seeder Company, Kain’s Trucking and Pasquale Trucking. Babe was a member of V.F.W. Post 3790, American Legion Post 60, Voiture 729 40&8. Babe was honored to be the Grand Marshall of the 2016 Veterans Day Parade, he was proud to of served his country during WW2, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Babe enjoyed attending cardiac rehab at Memorial Hospital and visiting with the therapists. He also loved a trip to Bullshipper’s Café.
Surviving along with his wife Jayne are four daughters, Kellie D. Neuendorf of Logansport, IN, Tracie E. (Kevin) Murphy of Brownstown, IN, Cheryl Lynn Tomlinson of Logansport, IN, Vicki Jo (Kim) Zeller of Logansport, IN; Step Daughter, Sherie J. Hoosier of Kokomo, IN; sister, Frances (Don) Shelhart of Logansport, IN; 10 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Larry Lowry officiating. Burial with full Military graveside rites will be held at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Gundrum Funeral Home
