Frances Smith

Services for Frances V. Smith, 78, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 3:35 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2007, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born Nov. 5, 1928, in Noble County, she was the daughter of George and Merceda Boyd Bearss. She was married March 26, 1950, in Rochester, to Donald L. Smith, who preceded in death Jan. 2, 1996.

A 1946 graduate of Rochester High School, and a graduate of Elkhart Business College, Frances was a retired nurse for the former Dr. Jay M. King for over 30 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise D. Smith, Logansport; two sons, Ronald A. Smith and his wife, Patti, Logansport, and Randall B. Smith and his wife, Donna, Frankfort; two brothers, Wendall Bearss and his wife, Maxine, Rochester, and Bud Bearss and his wife, Ruby, Berne; one sister, Janis Garcia and her husband, Juan, Puebla, Mexico; three grandchildren, Michelle Hewitt and her husband, Jason, Peru, Andrew Hunt and his wife, Stephanie, Logansport, and Jamie Smith, Frankfort; three great-grandchildren, Jakob Hewitt, Kathleen Hunt and Ethan Hunt.

One daughter, Kathleen Rearick, preceded in death.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
