Fred C. Moss, 79, Logansport, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Woodbridge Health Campus.

The son of Fred H. and Gladys Clegg Moss, he was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Logansport. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Marilane Hume in Logansport and she preceded him Jan. 15, 2004.

An Army veteran of the Korean war, Fred was a 1948 graduate of Logansport High School and attended Purdue University.

Fred was active in farming. He retired from Rockwell International in 1982 after 33 years of service.

He was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Tipton Masonic Lodge 33 F. & A.M., Logansport Elks Lodge 66 and Cass County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by daughters, Cathy Moss and Shirley Shultz and husband Richard, all of Logansport; son, Fred Charles Moss, Logansport; mother-in-law, Ruth Macklen, Logansport; sister, Louise D. Moss, Darien, Conn.; and five grandchildren, Mark Warpenburg, Aurora, Brandie Farris and husband Matt, Logansport, Richard Shultz and wife Melinda, Kewanna, and Lauren and Kendall Moss, Hamilton, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Madison & Bailey Shultz, Kewanna, and Sarah and Kylie Farris, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Matthew Warpenburg, preceded in death.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor George Plasterer officiating.

Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be an Elks service at 7 p.m. followed by a Masonic service at 7:30.

Memorials may be made to Cross-Wind United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
