Frederick LeRoy “Roy” Clem, 89, Logansport, died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born June 21, 1920, in Logansport, he was the son of Harold “Dick” and Marie Snyder Clem. He was married Dec. 30, 1939, in Logansport, to Lola Maxine Cree.

Roy was a retired, self-employed mechanic.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 60, VFW Post 3790 and Moose Lodge 232. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Lola Maxine Clem, Logansport; sons, Harold LeRoy Clem and wife, R. Jane, Logansport, and Dennis Lee Clem and companion, Dany Slough, Harrisburg, N.C.; daughter, Marilyn Kay Baker, Logansport; son-in-law, Richard Smith, Logansport; brothers, Harold Richard Clem and wife, Marcella, Logansport, Edward Clem and wife, Rosalee, Georgetown, and Merle “Ronch” Clem and wife, Bonnie, Logansport; sister-in-law, Barbara Clem, Logansport; brother-in-law, Charlie Murphy, Logansport; 10 grandchildren, David Clem, Heather Hammond and husband, Phillip, Pat Smith, Mendy Benn and husband, David, Brad Smith and wife, Kathi, Tracy Baker, Terry Baker and wife, Ali, Jason Baker and wife, Erika, Shawn Clem and companion, Michelle Boucher, Jennifer Huff and husband, Jason; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Jane Smith; three brothers, Robert “Mike” Clem, John Clem and Raymond Clem; and two sisters, Betty Wheeler and Helen Murphy.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Gross officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
