Services for Fredric âKentâ March, 56, of Lucerne, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 2:25 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 31, 1950, in Logansport, he was the son of Victor E. and Stella Mae Swayzee March. He was married June 17, 1972, in Logansport, to Cathy S. Pickens, who survives.
A 1968 graduate of Camelback High School, Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. March was an auctioneer and was employed at Tinnerman-Palnut (Elco) for 22 years. He was a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1973.
Kent was a member of the Indiana Auctioneer Association.
He loved music, writing songs and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting and auctions.
Also surviving are four sons, Jason March and his wife, Alisa, Pensacola, Fla., Joshua March and Shelby Pickens, both of Lucerne, and Jarod March and his fiancé, Sara, Logansport; one daughter, Carrie Villafana and her husband, Fabian, Lucerne; one brother, Roger March and his wife, Patricia, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Barb Mills, Macy, Phyllis Lechner and her husband, Tom, Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Watt and her husband, Carl, Denver, Colo.; and eight grandchildren, Katalina, Diana, Paige, Ralina, Zach, Fabian, Ethan and Aden.
One granddaughter, Adrienna March, and one brother-in-law, Gordon Mills, preceded in death.
Brother Mike Cantrell will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Metea Cemetery, Metea.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday in the funeral home.
