Genevieve Howell

Genevieve L. Howell, 93 of Logansport, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in her residence.

Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma, Aunt Genny, or a friend, you knew she was special. She was born on March 18, 1921 in Michigan, to the late Norman and Gladys (Kiltz) Bennett. She lived through WWII, and the great depression, yet she always had a way of making the best of a not so good situation. She could stretch a meal to feed whoever showed up at the last minute and she had a passion for sewing which helped clothe her kids and grandkids in the lean times.
She was married to William Paul Howell for 49 years; he preceded her in death on May 13, 1987.

Her family was her life. Imagine a house full of family, the smell of fresh food cooking on the stove, the sounds of laughter and conversation, and the warmth of love surrounding us; this was every holiday at her house. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She had the ability to make everyone feel special to her. We are sad that she is no longer physically with us, but we are happy to know that she is now pain-free and rejoicing in the arms of our wonderful Lord and Savior. She will forever be here in the hearts of the people she touched, and in our memories.
She was a very active, long time member of Grace Fellowship Church and was loved by all who attended there. At the church carry-ins, her potato salad was always a big hit.

Surviving are her three children, Jean Starkey; Jack (Kay) Howell; and Jay (Anne) Howell, all of Logansport; six granddaughters, Tamara (Jay) Caton, Seelyville, IN; Dena Caye; Joni Warren; Wendy Kauffman and Abby Howell, all of Logansport; Kimberly Howell, Kokomo, IN; three grandsons, Tim (Cheryl) Howell; Andrew (Marjorie) Howell; Mason Howell, all of Logansport; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Everett) Stoner; Joyce (Joe) Catolica; and special niece, Gloria (Lucy) Lombardi, all of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Please come and join our family in the celebration of her life at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jay McKinley officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery nearLogansport.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, March 31, 2014 also in the funeral home
