George E. Hendrix, 74, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Born April 13, 1939 in Kokomo, Indiana, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith May Titus Hendrix. On September 4, 1982 in Logansport, he married Diann L. Long who survives.
George worked for Chrysler Automotive for thirty seven years, and Crystal Dairy for five years.
He was a graduate of New Waverly High School, and enjoyed collecting baseball cards, marbles, coins and watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Lisa (Craig) Shanteau, Indianapolis; Julie (Leonard) Heise, Kokomo; two sons, Greg (Ruth Ann) Hendrix, Indianapolis; Tim (Donna) Hendrix, Pensacola, FL; twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother, Albert (Margaret) Hendrix , Peru; two Sisters, Nancy (Dave) Rentschler, Paris, MO; Dorris (Danny) Regan, Logansport; two sister-in-laws, Vicky (Bob) McFarland, Vincennes; Barbara Jean Hall, Rockville; Brother in law, Edgar (Shirley) George, Elizabethtown; and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel Hendrix; Niece, Kathy Barkley; Sister in law, Patty Bowman, and brother in law, William George.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. George Plasterer officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
