George Hughart

George H. Hughart, 46, Logansport, died at 5:53 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 15, 1963, in Fontana, Calif., he was the son of Robert Ralph Hughart and Barbara Ann Somers.

His occupation was in electrical maintenance.

Mr. Hughart was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his companion, Deborah M. Dorsam, Logansport; sister, Helen M. Jordan, Logansport; brothers, Tom Hughart and wife Kathy, San Bernardino, Calif., and Jack Hughart, Maryland; mother, Barbara Ann Benedict, Fontana, Calif.; father, Robert R. Hughart, Cherokee Village, Alaska; niece, Margie Spurlock and husband, Jerry, Clermont, Fla.; nephews, Jimmy Hughart, Maryland, and Gary Heidorn, Wisconsin; great-nephew, Johnny Musgrave, Otis; and great-niece, Elizabeth Ann Schoolcraft, Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by one niece, Ann Marie Schoolcraft.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home. Full military rites will be conducted before the funeral services. Father Jeff Martin will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
