George Richards

George H. Richards, 68, Logansport, died at 2:14 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born June 13, 1943, in Schenectady, N.Y., he was the son of George and Bernice Schinski Richards. He was married Aug. 11, 1962, in Knox, to Virginia Rose Walas, who survives.

George was a self-employed motorcycle mechanic, operating Hard Times Cycle Shop.

He enjoyed drawing, stock car racing, hot rod cars and building motorcycles.

Surviving are daughters, Jennifer Storey, Logansport, and Julie Stapleton and husband, Dan, Royal Center; and four grandchildren, Courtney Storey, James Storey, Ian Richards and Austin Stapleton.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Richards.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Kelly Spencer officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
