Gertrude B. Atwood, 91, Royal Center, died at 7:38 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo.

Born Sept. 15, 1920, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Carlus and Jennie Henry Robinson. She was married July 6, 1940, in Kentucky, to John Q. Atwood Jr., who preceded her in death June 7, 2005.

She was retired from Hildebrant’s Bait And Tackle.

Gertrude was a former member of River of Life Church and current member of Baptist Christian Church of Royal Center and the Boone Township Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are brothers, Harry Robinson and wife, Ethel, Royal Center, and Joe Robinson and wife, Virginia, Logansport; sister, Betty Schmaltz, Royal Center; sister-in-law, Josephine Robinson, Royal Center; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Rall, Vera Marie Wolf and Leena Cunningham; two brothers, James and William Robinson; and one sister-in-law, Erma Robinson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the charity of the donor’s choice.
