Grace A. Kesser, 88, Royal Center, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born July 24, 1921, in Cass County, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Sarah Anna Buchanan Young. She was married June 23, 1940, in Rochester, to James Frederick Kesser Jr., who preceded in death April 6, 1980.

Grace was a homemaker. .

She was a member of the WSCS, Jefferson Township 1 Extension Homemakers Club, Progressive Club, Old Town Chapter of The Daughters of American Revolution, Kokomo Teachers Travel Club, Closson Travel Club and the Walter Unger Travel Group. Grace was also the Cass County Extension Homemakers Chorus Director for 33 years. Grace was very proud of the fact she had visited every state in the union and traveled to several foreign countries. She attended Lake Cicott United Methodist Church and also enjoyed playing the piano, accordion and organ. She was a 1939 graduate of Royal Center High School.

Surviving are daughter, Audrey “Jeanne” Brubaker and husband, Lynn, Logansport; son, James Frederick Kesser III and wife, Toni, Gahanna, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Patricia Crispen, Logansport; sisters, Lucile Burns, Scottsburg, and Gertrude Stephenson and husband, Melvin, Salem; brother, James H. Young and wife, Della, Salem; granddaughters, Veronica Kesser and Carole Zuke, both of Logansport, Dawn Boehme and companion, David Stangle, Kewanna, and Deanna Ricci and husband, Leonard, Logansport; grandsons, James Frederick Kesser IV, Denver, Colo., and Ronald Kesser, Columbus, Ohio; stepgranddaughter, Kristin Skinner, and Adrienne Eldridge, both of Columbus, Ohio; 10 great-grandchidren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Kesser; one great-granddaughter, BreighAnna Boehme; four brothers; and one sister.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Cemetery, near Burnettsville, with the Rev. Richard Conrad officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
