Services for Harry Robert “Bob” Summers, 92, Logansport, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.

He died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born Dec. 19, 1916, in Logansport, he was the son of Harry S. and Irma Brandt Summers. His first marriage was on Nov. 26, 1966, in Logansport, to Letha Eileen “Petie” Hopper, who preceded in death Dec. 26, 1990. His second marriage was on May 1, 2004, in Logansport, to Metta Jane Oliver Nelson, who survives in Logansport.

Bob is a retired plant superintendent of Plastic Molding Division for RBM Peru and former maintenance superintendent of the Logansport RBM plant.

Bob was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, American Legion Post 60, life member of the Elk’s Lodge 66, life member of NRA, member of AARP, former member of Orient Masonic Lodge 272, York Rite, St. Johns Commandrey and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Also surviving are sister, Fredia Louise “Betty” Camp, Logansport, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy; one niece; and one nephew.

Pastor Tim McKaig will officiate. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before services Saturday at the cemetery chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and/or the American Diabetes Association.
