Services for Hazel L. Plank, 81, Galveston, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Center United Methodist Church.
She died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, in her residence.
Born Sept. 13, 1926, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Charles E. Sr. and Florence Ersie Snyder Stephenson. She was married Oct. 24, 1948, in Anoka United Methodist Church, to Albert Dwight Plank, who survives.
Hazel retired in 1989 from the Logansport State Hospital, where she worked as an attendant.
She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church, Deacon Grange, Pleasant Valley Quilters, Cass County Farm Bureau and past County President of the Cass County Extension Homemakers.
Hazel was a former adult 4-H leader for over 20 years and a 10-year 4-H member. She also was a member of the Indiana State Grange and served as the State Community Service Chairman and was active on the Womenâs Activities committee. She was a member of the Center United Methodist Ladies Aid.
Growing up she was a member of the Logan Girls Softball Team.
Also surviving are sons, D. Stephen Plank and wife, Patricia, Galveston, and John Plank and wife, Susan, Brookston; daughters, Sarah Burke and husband, Kevin, Pendleton, and Susan Plassmeier and husband, Tim, Newburgh; 13 grandchildren, Misty Samard and husband Rich, Albany, Ore., Scott Plank, Brad Plank and Jeff Plank, Galveston, Stacy Plank, Indianapolis, Kelly Plank and Jacob Plank, Brookston, Nathan Burke, Nick Burke and Jared Burke, Pendleton, and Kyle Plassmeier, Matt Plassmeier and Bryan Plassmeier, Newburgh; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Samard, Logan Samard and Hope Samard, Albany, Ore.
Four brothers, Robert Stephenson, Bill Stephenson, Bernard Stephenson and Charles Stephenson Jr., and two sisters, Patricia Jones and Lois Stephenson preceded in death.
The Rev. John Newman will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Young America.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday at the church. A Deacon Grange service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
