WALTON — Helen L. Pickering, 81, Walton, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.

Born Jan. 6, 1931, in Paragon, she was the daughter of Dick and Tilda Wingler. She was married July 8, 1950, in Bringhurst, to Wayne Lee Pickering, who preceded in death Nov. 11, 1989. Helen was a homemaker.

She was a member of Lighthouse of Hope Church in Logansport and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are children, David L. Pickering, Walton, Danny L. Pickering, Logansport, Ronnie L. Pickering and wife, Carolyn, Tipton, Earl L. Pickering and wife, Doris, and Deloris J. McKinley and husband, Mike, all of Logansport, and Wayne L. Pickering Jr. and wife, Melissa, Tipton; grandchildren, Stephanie Miller and husband, Eric, Walton, Kevin Pickering, Kokomo, Ashley Shedron and husband, Bon, Lake Cicott, Michael Pickering, Walton, Tim Pickering and wife, Leslie, Galveston, Nicholas A. Pickering, Walton, Brittany Pickering, Tipton, Justin Pickering and wife, Shawnee, Walton, Amy Scott and husband, Randy, Logansport, Michelle McKinley and fiancé, Scott Boldry, Rochester, Paige Johnson and husband, Shawn, Kokomo, Mark McDaniel, Wisconsin, Leth McDaniel, and Patricia Davis, both of Kokomo, and Nicole Pickering, and Cali Pickering, both of Tipton; 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Georgie Wingler and wife, Kay, and Chester Wingler and wife, Gay, all of Martinsville.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patty McDaniel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Joshua L. Bault officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lighthouse of Hope Church in Logansport.
