Helen Raber

Helen Jeanette Raber, 89, of Macy, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Allisonville Meadows of Fishers, Indiana.

Born July 4, 1925 in Fulton, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Pritz) Vedder.  On July 8, 1944 she married Vincent Calvin who preceded in death on April 9, 1964. Then, on Sept. 16, 1966 she married Kenneth Raber who preceded in death Dec. 13, 1987.

Helen formerly worked at Kingsberry in LaPorte, Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester, and also did some home cleaning. She also enjoyed baking and gardening.

Surviving her are two step daughters, Julie (Roger) Bommer, Brookville, IN; Paula (Chuck) Kline, Fishers; step son, Gary (Diane) Raber, Macy; brother, Gene (Norma) Vedder, Rochester; two grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and eight step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in death by two sisters, Phyllis Hinkle, Evelyn Ruth Vedder, and one brother, Carl Vedder, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Bill) Hileman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday December 13, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. George Hapner officiating. Burial will be in Kewanna I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna, IN.

Visitation will be held from 3:00PM - 7:00PM Friday, December 12, 2014 and one hour prior to services on Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
