Helen Smith

Helen L. Smith, 95, of Logansport passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9:11 PM at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born April 9, 1918 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Nora J. (Leydet) Fettig. On June 15, 1938 in Logansport, she married Howard C. Smith who preceded in death on February 24, 1987.

Helen was a homemaker, formerly attended Grace Fellowship Church, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving is one daughter, Judy Walters and Husband Tom Kasch, Logansport; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hopkins; great grandson, Lucas Hopkins, both of Lafayette; sister-in-law Julia (Ralph) Strubbe, Greenfield; Nephew, Daniel J. (Debbie) Fettig, Peru; niece, JoEllen (John) Austerman, Mooreland, IN; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold J. Fettig.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday May 8, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home , with Pastor Ryan Lewellen officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the Pisgah Christian Church.
