Helen Thomas

Helen Mae Thomas, 86, of Logansport passed away Thursday morning, July 3, 2014 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Helen was born in Logansport on June 9, 1928 to the late Earl and Matilda (Fillman) Koons. She was married November 22, 1958 in Trinity Lutheran Church to Robert D. (Bob) Thomas who preceded her in death on February 26, 1995.

Helen was a homemaker. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she enjoyed listening to country and gospel music, visiting friends and relatives, baking, going on walks, and working in the yard. Helen loved animals, particularly the four cocker spaniels she had over the years, Penny, Cindy, Molly, and Abby.

She is survived by one son, Mark E. Thomas, Logansport; sister in law, Marilyn Thomas, Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and many caring friends & neighbors. She also had a very special friend, Susan Le Donne, who was the daughter of Norma Slusher, Helen’s best friend of over seventy years.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of services on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Humane Society, or Cause for Paws.
