Imogene Spradling, 78, Logansport, was surrounded by her family when she went home to be with the Lord late in the evening on August 7, 2018.
She was born on June 30, 1940, in Flora, Indiana, to parents Parks Lee and Lela Mae (Kirkpatrick) Young.
Imogene married Marion Eugene “Gene” Spradling on June 16, 1962. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2010.
In her spare time she loved to sit on the porch and observe the beauty of the landscape surrounding her home in rural Cass County. Between feeding the barn cats (and occasional “adopted” squirrel!) and watching the butterflies and birds, she always had a story ready for the grandkids. She also enjoyed word puzzles and listening to the Sunday morning gospel hour on the radio. But Imogene’s biggest pride and joy was her family. She blessed three generations with her warmth, kindness, and words of wisdom.
Imogene is survived by her three children - Audrey Jeanine (David) Willard, Rochester, Phillip Stephen Spradling, Logansport, Marion Eugene (Autumn) Spradling, Peru; five siblings - William (Nibia) Young, Indianapolis, Larry (Barbara) Young, Chicago; Linda (John) Manis, Tullahoma, Tennessee, Charlene Graves, Watseka, Illinois, Robert (Diane) Young, Burlington; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:00 AM S aturday, August 11, 2018 at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, with Pastor Keith Mosier of Southside Apostolic Church, Kokomo, officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
