Inez Newnes

LOGANSPORT — Inez M. Newnes, 88, Logansport, died at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born May 30, 1922, in Rossiter, Pa., she was the daughter of Orazio DiSalvatore and Adalaide Diremigo. She was married Oct. 24, 1944, in Ohio, to Barney R. Newnes, who preceded in death on Oct. 4, 1987.

Inez retired from the Logansport School Cafeteria after 22 years of service.

She graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and enjoyed reading, watching old movies and spending time with family.

Surviving are son, Russell B. Newnes, Logansport; daughters, Linda Marlatt and husband, Jim, Logansport, Clara Wright and husband, Stan, Bellefontaine, Ohio, Donna Davis and husband, Jerry, Logansport, and Bernadette Hardy and husband, Cary, Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Gianfogna, Cleveland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol I. Nipper; three brothers, Tommy, David and Art; and one sister, Jay Pantalone.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
