Services for Jack A. Lyons, 86, of Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 12:22 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Chicago, he was the son of Thomas and Lillian Hines Lyons. He was married June 11, 1949, in Logansport, to R. Esther Spitznogle, who survives.
Mr. Lyons was a former teacher in the Chicago School systems and also had worked at the Joliet Arsenal before coming to Cass County to be a farmer in 1953.
He was a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and Texas Tech of Lubbock, Texas.
A U.S. Army veteran, Jack served in World War II.
He was a member of Farm Bureau and the American Chemical Society.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jill Lamb, Irvine, Calif.; two sons, T. Jack Lyons, Jackson, Miss., and David Lyons and his wife, Huong, Washington D.C.; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Evan Lamb; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Mary Sughrua and June Labracque; and one brother, Robert Lyons, preceded in death.
The Rev. Keith Schreffler will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
