James Donald Melroy, 39, Peru, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born July 12, 1971, in Cass County, he was the son of James Justice and Debora Melroy. He was married Aug. 21, 1992, in Cass County, to Kerri Gollotte.
He worked for Transco Railways as a car man.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was a member of the HOG chapter. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and working on cars.
Surviving are his wife, Kerri Melroy, Peru; children, Shawn Baumgart and wife, Mandie, Logansport, James Melroy, Flora, Sharlean Melroy, Fort Polk, La., Deanna Melroy, Zaeviair Melroy, Nakiya Melroy, Caylee Melroy, and Christian Melroy, all of Peru, and Shawna Howell and husband, Chris, Logansport; granddaughters, Kathryn Howell, Natalie Howell, Zaley Baumgart, and Emilyn Baumgart, all of Logansport; mother, Debra Cassidy, Logansport; grandmother, Marilyn Melroy, Logansport; half-sister, Stacy Justice, Lafayette; half-brother, Jeremiah Justice, Camden; mother-in-law, Sandy Morehead, Peru; sister-in-law, Shasta Lacey and husband, Kevin, Peru; father and mother-in-law, Gregory Gollotte and wife, Deloris, Peru; cousin, Kelly Spencer and wife, Teresa, Logansport; uncle, Don Melroy, Logansport; aunts, Deb Smith, Logansport, Robin Melroy, Logansport; and friends, Sadye Shedron, Dylan Shedron, Scott Korreckt, Dorvan Korreckt, Brack Korreckt, Leonard Quaglio, Chris Quaglio, Loretta Quaglio, Lisa James, Chris James, Scott Colford, Angel Melroy, Eric Nichols and Rick Nichols.
One son, Nathan Melroy, preceded in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Kelly Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Reyburn Cemetery, Peru.
