James Harry Minthorn, 84, Twelve Mile, died at 11:07 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011, in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born March 25, 1926, in Cass County, he was the son of Ivan Wilbur and Lottie May Hufford Minthorn. He was married Aug. 13, 1949, in Logansport, to Elsie Virginia Hall, who preceded in death July 13, 2004.
He was a retired farmer.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are son, Joseph Alan Minthorn and wife Nancy, Logansport; grandsons, Joseph Alan Minthorn Jr., Logansport, Matthew Robert Minthorn and wife Annette, Columbia City, and Mike Minthorn and wife Julie, Monticello; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Harmon; and one son, Robert Minthorn.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating.
Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Metea Cemetery.
