Services for James T. âJimâ Wren, 85, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Church of the Nazarene in Logansport.
He died at 10:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, in Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Libourn, Mo., he was the son of Elbert Thomas and Mable Roberts Wren. His first marriage was to Betty Littler, who preceded in death on Sept. 17, 1986. His second marriage was to Martha Hurlock, who preceded in death on Oct. 10, 1999.
Jim was a carpenter.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and a member of Bonair Church of the Nazerene for 50 years. He also enjoyed playing cards.
Surviving are sons, John J. Wren and wife, Chong, Wheeling, Chicago, Ill., James F. Wren and wife, Deloris, Redland, Calif., and Joseph S. Wren and wife, Julie, Quincy, Ill.; brothers, Joe C. Wren and wife, Joan, Logansport, and Don R. Wren and wife, Betty, Ledbetter, Ky.; sisters, Dollie Mathis and husband, Gene, Ironton, Mo., Shelby Dill, Palmetto, Fla., Barbara Fye and husband, Dick, Kokomo, Betty Cardwell and husband, Jack, Riverview, Fla., Alice Traughber and husband, Glen, Donovan, Mo., and Louise Parker and husband, Larry, Malden, Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ardel Young and Betty Lou; three brothers, E.T. Wren Jr., Billy Wren and Paul Eugene Wren; and an infant.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church.
