Janice Bender

Janice F. Bender, 79 of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on October 12, 1938 in Sand Hill, NC, she was the daughter to the late Alfred T. and Altie B. (McPhail) Wilson. On September 12, 1957 in Rockingham, NC, she married Edward J. Bender Jr. who preceded in death on July 31, 2007.

Janice retired from DELCO and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Bill) Campbell, Logansport; Susan Layer, Logansport; son, Michael A. “Tony” Bender, Lafayette; grandchildren, Chelsea (Josh) Cates; Sarah Layer; Chris (Amanda) Layer, all of Logansport; Kenny Layer, Kokomo; great grandchildren, Alexis Bowman, Sophia Cates and Sailor Cates; and a sister, Patricia Taylor, Rockingham, NC.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joel M. Bowman, several brothers and a sister.

Per Janice’s requests, there will be no services held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Gundrum Funeral Home.
