Janie Rance

Janie Eileen Rance, 84 of Logansport, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 4:30 PM at Millers Merry Manor, in Logansport.

Born September 1, 1928 in Logansport, Eileen was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Marilla (Birnell) Birnell. She was married to Robert Richard “Dick” Rance who preceded in death on September 22, 1979.

Eileen was a homemaker and former house cleaner for local area residents. She was a member of Pisgah Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Jack (Sandra) Rance, and Tim (Helen) Rance, both of Logansport; one brother, Charles Birnell, Cloverdale, IN; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra L. Fry, two sons, Teddy Joseph and Robert Richard Rance Jr.,three grandchildren, Gary Lee Fry, Sherry Rance, and Stephanie Wagoner, three brothers, Billy, John, and Albert Birnell, and one sister, Mary Louise Nieman.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Lewellen officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013 also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Pisgah Christian Church.
