Jeanette Rowan

Jeanette L. Rowan, 83, Logansport, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, in North Woods Village, Kokomo.

Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Thomas Marker and Nancy Huff. She was married on Aug. 23, 1947, in Fort Wayne, to Donald E. Rowan, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1992.

Jeanette retired from Controls Inc. in 1990 after several years of service. She was the former president of UAW Local 1953.

Survivors include daughters Marcia Minthorn, Alabama, Lana Pfefferkorn and husband, Eugene, Auburn, Melanie Kelley and companion, Terry Osborn, Logansport, and Kimberly Rowan, Indianapolis; sons Tom Rowan and wife, Donna, Logansport, and Donald Rowan, Logansport; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two sisters preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel.

Chaplain Joel Gearhart will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
