Jeanne Morris

Jeanne D. Morris passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport. Jeanne was born on March 4, 1917 to the late James Donald and Chalce (Schmidt) Douglass.

She graduated from Logansport High School in 1935, from Stephens College in 1937, and from the University of Illinois in 1939. She married Frank Theodore Morris Jr. (Ted) on September 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2002. Her memberships included Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority, First Mothers' Study Group, Rotary Ann’s, and Calvary Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelley (Dr. Fred) Hillis, Culver; Melissa (Ed) Closson, Logansport; two granddaughters, Erin Hillis (Blake) Kopplin , San Antonio; Lisa Hillis (Dr. Craig) Miller, Plymouth; two step grandsons, Shannon Closson (Araceli); Corey Closson (Zaida), both of Mexico; three great grandchildren, Phoebe, Maclean and Vivy; four step grandchildren, Chloe, Eddie, Daniela, and Diego.

A private graveside service will be held at the Cline Cemetery near Royal Center, with Rev. Keith Kincaid, River of Life Christian Church, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Gundrum Funeral Home.
