Jeff E. Frey, 63, Walton, died 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at his residence. Born April 25, 1943, in Cass County, he was the son of Conn and Betty (Sixbey) Frey. He married Nancy A. McCord, his wife of 46 years, Oct. 16, 1961, in Logansport.
Jeff worked at Chrysler Transmission for 13 years before going into farming full time in 1978.
A volunteer fireman for the Onward Fire Department, he was a member of Anoka United Methodist Church, Walton Masonic Lodge and was former chairman of the ASCS. Jeff was a graduate of Tipton Township High School.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, raising and hauling cattle and hogs to the county fair, cattle shows, playing cards, watching Lewis Cass sports, mushroom hunting, watching IU basketball and a good joke on friends.
His survivors include his wife, Nancy Frey, Walton; two sons, Kelly and wife Carla Frey, Logansport, and Shane and wife Darla Frey, Walton; his mother, Betty Frey, Walton; a brother, Kim and wife Mary B. Frey, Logansport; two sisters, Dixie Emler and friend Judy Hashem, Plainfield, and Nikki and husband Larry Price, Peru; granddaughter, Whitney Frey; three grandsons, Beau and Ronnette Frey, Zachary Frey and Ethan Frey; three great-grandchildren, Heidi Frey and Drew and Payton; lifelong friends and people he and Nancy shared fun times with, Grant and Cindy Harris, Fort Wayne, and Steve and Barb Porter.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Anoka United Methodist Church, Anoka, with Pastor James Abbott and the Rev. Loren Regier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anoka United Methodist Church.
