Services for Jerry J. Hults, 75, Carmel, formerly of Twelve Mile, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He passed away at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 25, 1933, in Logansport, he was the son of Floyd R. Hults and Pearl Marie Wilson. He was married on July 13, 1958, at Fletchers Lake, to Shirley R. Champ, who survives.
Jerry retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor after 35 years and also served as a general chairman of the United Transportation Union.
He was a member of the Royal Center Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Democratic Club of Hamilton County and St. Marks United Methodist Church of Carmel. Jerry was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army and a 1953 graduate of Logansport High School.
Also surviving is a daughter, Beth A. Hults, St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Michael J. Hults and wife Carolyn A., Chicago; two brothers Edsel W. Hults and wife Dorothy, Logansport, and Wayne P. Hults, Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Hazel Zimmerman and husband Martin, Logansport, and Linda Schlick, Logansport; grandchildren, Connor Hults and Tyler Hults, Chicago; a brother-in-law, Gary Champ and wife Jane, Fletchers Lake; a sister-in-law, Carol Haimbaugh and husband Mack, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Bethlehem United Methodist Cemetery, Twelve Mile.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Masonic services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
