Services for Jesse H. Morgan, 94, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in his residence.

Born Feb. 25, 1914, in Cass County, he was the son of Earl C. and Stella O. Sines Morgan. He was married Feb. 11, 1939, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Logansport to Opal I. Maxwell, who survives.

Jesse retired from farming in 1969 and from the Cass County Highway Department in 1983 after 28 years.

He was a 50-plus year member of the Eagles Lodge 323 and member of the Faith Lutheran Church. Jesse also enjoyed sulky racing, Horse Shoes and euchre. He was a 1934 graduate of Washington Township High School and member of the Royal Center Horseshoe Pitching team.

Also surviving are daughters, Ruth Ann Coppock and husband, Charles “Chuck,” Camden, and Carolyn Waddups and Mike Nicholas, Logansport; three grandchildren, Mark and Julie Settlemyre, New Palestine, Brenda Settlemyre, Summitville, and Tammy and Rick Scruggs, Royal Center; nine great-grandchildren, Travis, Alyona, Drew, Ben and Riley Settlemyre, Zachery Settlemyre, Jeremy Shupperd, Brandon Scruggs and Austin Scruggs; and sister-in-law, Delores Callaway and husband, Bill.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Osborn, Marquerite Humerickhouse and Irene Morgan; four brothers, Ray, Eugene, Harry and Henry Morgan; and one great-granddaughter, Trinity Jule Settlemyre.

Pastors Tom Shannock and Sandy Hutchens will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or The Guardian Angel Hospice Inc. at 513 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo IN 46902.
