Joan Elizabeth DeHaven, age 97, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born May 8, 1924, in Logansport, she is the daughter to the late John and Sarah (Marchand) Wirth. On August 1, 1948, in Logansport she married Wayne A. DeHaven who preceded in death on December 17, 2012.
Joan retired as a Registered Nurse working at the Indiana State Hospital for 34 years. She was a member of the Cross-Wind United Methodist Church since the 1940’s. Joan loved playing cards, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. She and her husband enjoyed spending 16 winters in Harlingen, TX.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane (Chuck) Carbaugh, Logansport; Nancy DeHaven, Logansport; one son, Stan (Kathy) DeHaven, Nyona Lake; six grandchildren, Stacey (Nate) Begle, Pittsboro; Holly (Derick) Weaver, Rochester; Anje (Eddie) Klinkhamer, Logansport; Robin (Jessica) DeHaven, Austin, TX; John (Ida) Carbaugh, Logansport; grand daughter-in-law, Angie DeHaven, Stevensville, MI; brother, Donald Wirth, Billings, Montana; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandbaby on the way.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Allen DeHaven and two brothers, Richard and Gerald Dale Wirth.
Private services are being held for the family and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cross-Wind United Methodist Church.
