Joan Ranke

Doris Joan Ranke, 91 of Peru, formerly of Burrows, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Duke’s Memorial Hospital in Peru.

Joan was born on November 13, 1929, in Logansport and is the daughter to the late Elwood Alvin and Margaret (Cooper) Ranke.

Joan had a loving heart and never knew a stranger. She loved the little ones and she herself had never grown up. Church was very important to her, she never missed a service or any event that was connected to the church. She loved to dance and sing and work in her coloring books. She will be missed by many.

Surviving Joan is a sister, Carolyn Minnick (Charles Paul) of Muncie; five nieces, Rosalie Arnold, Dee Bishop, Julie Sink, Christy Carlson and Rene Houin; two nephews, Stewart Hartz and Darin Minnick . She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Nick Zelinsky.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Ranke; three sisters, Betty Wilson, Donna Zelinsky and Bonnie Hartz; two nephews, Scott and Mark Minnick; and a niece Jenny Zelinsky.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday October 16, 2021 in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Eric Haley officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral service.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the cemetery chapel.
