Joan Wren

Joan Wren, 74, Logansport, died at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 26, 1936, in Delphi, she was the daughter of Howard C. Kistler and Stella L. Nethercut. She was married Nov. 26, 1966, in Logansport, to Joe C. Wren, who survives.

She retired from Elco Industries in 2007 after 18 years of service.

Joan attended the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, doing origami and spending time with her grandchildren.

Also surviving are daughters, Vickie Peattie, Logansport, Shannon Scheibelhut and husband William, Kokomo, and Julie Weiner and husband Jan, Ashville, N.C.; sons, Donald T. Layne, Logansport, Christopher Wren, North Carolina; sisters, Jean Black, Alabama, and Janice Neal, Logansport; brothers Marion Kistler and wife, Connie, Logansport, Charles Kistler and wife Fran, Dry Ridge, Ky., and Keith Kistler and wife Jan, Logansport; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters Garnet Haffey, Thelma Prentice, and Maryellen Walters; and two brothers, Jim and Jay Kistler.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in The First Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Horace Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the Church on Tuesday.
