Joe Gaumer

Joe D. Gaumer, 73, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Chase Center in Logansport.

Born on October 22, 1947, in Logansport, he is the son to the late Charles E. and Jessie (Hall) Gaumer.  On July 27, 1968, at Lockbourne Air Force Base, he married Patricia Monahan who preceded in death on February 27, 2021.

Joe was a United States Air Force Veteran and had retired from the Exide battery factory. Some of his favorite hobbies were cooking, chopping wood and mowing his lawn. He owned “Gaumer’s Grocery for many years. Joe especially enjoyed time with his granddaughters. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Gussie, Lilly and Abbi.

Surviving Joe is a daughter, Dena (Randy) Kuhn of Logansport; Pete (Terry) Gaumer of Independence, IA; five grandchildren, Cheyanne (Andy) Scales; Carley (Kobi) Camp; Kendra (Bruce) Oldham; Kate (Matti) Vanninen; Chris (Monica) Kuhn; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie (Jean) Gaumer of Lafayette; Frank (Carol) Gaumer of Logansport; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tim McKaig officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Sunday, also in the Funeral Home.
