John Barnes

John E. Barnes, age 71 of Burnettsville, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2023 in his residence.

Born March 6, 1952, in Plymouth, IN to the late Henry M.  and Alta (Weaver) Barnes.

John retired from Monticello Tool Company. He was a 1970 graduate of Twin Lakes High School

Survivors include two sisters, Sandra Kay Barnes, Logansport; Carolyn Criswell, Monticello; step sister, Carmen Simmons; several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Barnes, one sister, Judith C. Holmes and a brother-in-law, David Criswell.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday March 21, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery near Burnettsville.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time of services on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Idaville Volunteer Fire Dept.

The family would like to thank the Idaville and Monticello First Responders, the White County Sheriff’s Department and Deputy Coroner Tony Deibel for all their assistance.
