John Overholser

John E. Overholser, 78, of Logansport, died at 7:54 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at Chase Nursing and Convalescent Center in Logansport.

John was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Huntington County to Walter Overholser and Mary Fullhart. He married Betty J. Sheets on May 16, 1953, in Pyrmont. She preceded him in death on Dec. 1, 2011.

John retired from a lifetime of farming. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was also a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandray Fay Netser, of Logansport; a son, Samuel Leroy Overholser, of North Carolina; a daughter, Shirley (Bob) Phipps of Logansport; a son, Steven (Kathy) Overholser of Fulton; a son, Scott (Regina) Overholser of Missouri; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

One great-granddaughter, Jenna Kae Edwards, preceded him in death.
