John Penny

John H. Penny Jr., 65, of Logansport, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on November 12, 1951 in Denison, TX, he was the son of the late John H. Penny Sr. and Mary Ellen (Woods) Martin.  On July 4, 2008 in Logansport, he married Jenny L. Putnam who survives.

John loved to fish and was an extraordinary cook. He enjoyed having having BBQ’s and spending time with his friends and family.  He was a member of the Thornhope Church of Christ and loved to serve the Lord with all of his heart.

Surviving along with wife Jenny are two sons, John J. (Alyssa) Blanton, Lafayette; Eric Valentine, Dallas, Texas; several grandchildren; a sister, Ernestine (Samuel) Peterson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Bagley.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor David Webb and Brother Mark Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 13 also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
