John Smith

A celebration of life for John F. Smith, 57, Walton, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in his residence.

Born Feb. 9, 1951, in Logansport, he was the son of Richard and Mary Jane Pitman Smith. He was married June 24, 1996, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., to Nancy M. Webster, who survives.

John was employed as a clerk for Wedges Liquor Store and was a former delivery truck driver for Palumbo Distributing Company.

He was a member of the Cass County Pool League. John enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandsons.

Also surviving are sons, Chad Smith and companion, Tavia Williams, Logansport, and Ryan Smith and wife, Angie, Bloomington; brother, Rich Smith, Denver, Colo.; and two grandsons, Jacob Smith and Kye Smith.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Smith.

The Rev. Scott Ellison will officiate.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
